Aims of the Department
Our main focus is to develop skills, creativity and independence in an environment of positive relationships and support for each other.
Strengths of the Department
The Art Department at Trinity is a highly successful area of the school. GCSE results are excellent each year, with many students going on to do A-Level Art at 6th Form and University. The department has two large art rooms, with exciting resources and creative opportunities for students.
During each year the art department run two events. One being a creative week during Arts Week, in which Y7 pupils create ambitious, interesting work in either clay or paint, to enhance the school environment. The other is our GCSE exhibition evening that celebrates the work of our Y11 students who have completed their course.
KS3 Art Curriculum
In KS3, pupils learn foundation skills in Art, experiment with materials and gain some knowledge of different artists.
KS4 Art Curriculum
During KS4, students undertake a GCSE in Fine Art, specializing mainly in painting and drawing. Students are taught fine Art skills to an extremely high standard, producing paintings and drawings of excellent quality and imagination, which are often on display around our school and provide inspiration to other students. Students work in a studio – like environment, supporting each other, discussing ideas and working closely with their teachers in order to continuously improve their work.
