Anti-bullying Week, 16th - 20th November 2009

This week is national anti-bullying week, and here at Trinity we are taking the opportunity to engage with pupils and parents about cyber-bullying in many ways:

  • Posters and the digital signs around school advertise the anti-bullying message
  • Assemblies have taken place for the whole school that highlight the importance of this week
  • Over 400 pupils have already completed our anti-bullying questionnaire. We are using the results from the questionnaire to look at improving the way we deal with bullying at Trinity
  • We have created a new email address - stopthebully@trinityhigh.com - that will enable pupils and parents to highlight concerns they have about bullying in a safe and confidential way. This email address is read by school admin staff and anonymous information is passed on to teachers. The sender's name WILL NOT be passed on to teachers.

This year's Anti-bullying Week campaign is 'Stay safe in cyberspace', and it is devoted to cyber-bullying.

Cyber-bullying is defined as "when the Internet, cell phones or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person".
