What is Health & Social Care?

Heatlh & Social Care is a subject that will allow you to progress to study Nursing, Teacher Training, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Youth Work at various universities

 

 

 

 

Why Study Health & Social Care?

By completing this course you will have a good grounding for a career in any form of social care.

What Will I Learn?

The course is set up to accommodate students wishing to study AS and A2.

Within the course you will study a range of units that are mandatory to complete to be successful in the course.

All units are assessed internally through coursework.

Examples of units are as follows:

  • Developing effective communication in Health and Social Care
  • Equality diversity and rights in Health and Social Care
  • Development through the life stages
  • Nutrition for Health and Social Care
  • Promoting Health education
  • Psychological perspectives for Health and Social Care

 

 

What Do I Need to Study Health & Social Care?

In order for you to be able to meet the demands of studying a course in Health and Social Care, you need to gain the following qualifications at GCSE:

  • 5 A* - C grades, including a Grade B in Health and Social Care and a Grade C or above in both English and Mathematics.
