Band of the Grenadier Guards Visit
Last week, we were delighted to welcome the Band of the Grenadier Guards back to Trinity for another unforgettable day of music-making.
The day began with a Year 7 careers assembly, where students gained a fascinating insight into the life of a military musician, including performing at royal engagements. One highlight was an inspiring rendition of Believer by Imagine Dragons. The Band also held a Q&A session with our older musi-cians, who learned more about the opportunities and pathways available within Army music.
A total of 46 Trinity woodwind, brass and percussion students then joined members of the Band for workshops, gaining valuable skills and experience while performing alongside world-class musicians. The sessions were filled with enthusiasm, encouragement and inspiration, creating memories that will stay with our students for years to come.

Bathed in Manchester sunshine, the wider school community enjoyed a spectacular lunchtime display as the Band marched into the playground in perfect formation. Their iconic red tunics, bearskin hats and gleaming instruments made for a truly unforgettable sight. Staff and students were treated to a varied programme, featuring everything from the traditional Grenadier March to the much-loved Ghostbusters theme.

The day concluded with a showcase concert, where our students performed alongside the professional musicians and proudly demonstrated their talent and commitment to the wider Trinity community. We were also honoured to welcome special guest Professor Peter Graham, the world-renowned composer whose music featured in the programme.
Music teacher, Mrs Simms said: “The visit from the Band of the Grenadier Guards has once again been an incredible experience. What began as a once-in-a-lifetime event last year has developed into a lasting partnership.
Our student musicians were welcoming, engaged and hardworking, and I am immensely proud of them. I would also like to thank the wider Trinity community who attended our showcase concert, including British Army veterans from Broughton Care Village.”
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Band of the Grenadier Guards for inspiring our students and sharing their expertise. We look forward to continuing this valued partnership and creating further opportunities for our young musicians to learn, perform and flourish in the years ahead.
