My Advice For Current Students
- There are different ways into university – I was not academic and got in by utilising practical training opportunities such as The National Trust Careership and NVQs.
- So many people from so many backgrounds from Trinity are now very successful and more importantly very happy. For instance, when I had the school photo attached taken I was very vulnerable and living on my friends bedroom floor. I’d forgotten the photographer was coming so I ran in all flustered.
- Take one day at a time, don’t try and achieve your life by holding your jaw solid and furrowing your brow. Ask for help, aim at positive people and if you have even a tiny bit of faith, ask God and he will come through like you wouldn’t believe. Tiniest most honest prayers go very very far.

My Advice For Current Students
- Go and see the world. Traveling will expand your horizons. You’ll meet new and interesting people and gain a better understanding of yourself and others.
- Don’t wait around for someone to hand things to you in a plate. Go and get it. Nothing worth having is easy and time passes quickly.
- If you want to learn a new skill jump in head first. Don’t think about the what ifs. Work hard and stay focused. Some people are happy just bobbing along and that’s ok. But if you want to achieve greatness you have to work hard.
- Make good working relationships. Be reliable. Nobody likes to work with someone who’s unreliable. And look after your own well being. Know your worth and value. Love yourself and learn about yourself (travel) and try and be the better tomorrow than you were today.

If you always make sure that you’re enjoying what you’re doing then you’re on the right path! P.S There’s no end point to this, when you achieve your dreams/goals you’ll find new ones, so you’re always on that journey.
- Put yourself out there! Even if you’re nervous or feel slightly out of place, most people feel like that too and will appreciate the effort (if they don’t, then who cares?). If you don’t ask, you don’t get, and meeting new people in a professional or friendly environment can change your work/ life dramatically!
