Y7 Debate Mate Finals in London

From English Teachers, Ms Brierley-Rimmer and Ms Shaw:

“On Monday 15th June, six Year 7 students went to London to compete in the Novice Urban Debate League finals – an incredible achievement, considering that over 80 schools participated nationally throughout the year!

The students competed in two debates and won one of them, the first debate was about ‘how to ethically use money’, and the second debate was ‘whether History is a more important subject than Geography’.

Throughout the day, the students were exemplary Trinity representatives: hard-working, polite, confident, humble and respectful. We were impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication to debating – all students said they had a lovely day and learned a lot from seeing other schools from around the country in action. It was a great end to an excellent first year of debating at Trinity!”
