40th Anniversary Concert
From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:
“On Monday 25th March, we held our Anniversary Concert at the RNCM which was a spectacular celebration of 40 years of music-making at Trinity. Over 200 talented students performed with such enthusiasm and excellence in a huge variety of styles.
Orchestra and Stage Band opened each half with a selection of famous pieces. There was a peaceful musical reflection from the Strings and Sixth Form Singers to mark Holy Week and we enjoyed more outstanding ensembles such as brass and woodwind group.
The Steel Pans brought a party atmosphere and it was heartening to witness the confidence of our younger ensembles such as Ukuleles, Training Guitars and Strings, reassuring us that the future of music-making at Trinity is secure! Ini (Year 13) and Naomi (Year 10) treated us to an impressive Tuba and Piano performance and we paid tribute to our Year 11 and Year 13 students for their ‘Contribution to Music’ throughout their time at Trinity.
Our Band Skills groups had the audience clapping and singing along with some great tunes from the 1980s and the Choirs wowed the crowd with their incredible vocal skills and songs about community and belonging. The whole show ended with a joyful finale of “We are Family”, with the audience on their feet dancing!
We are grateful for the support of so many family, friends and local partners of Trinity – one audience member wrote: “The concert last night was a magnificent testament to the school and all that it enables its students to achieve. The incredibly rich programme showed how the long musical tradition of the school has expanded and gives diverse opportunity for musical talent to express itself. The students performed with so much confi-dence and passion. They are great ambassadors for their school and city and reflect the very best qualities of young people.” Congratulations to all who took part in such a memorable occasion.”
