RNCM Young Artists

Archbishop of York Award

Ms Ellison, Course Director of KS3 Religious Education, tells us more:
“Over the last month, students in Year 7 have been working towards completing the Archbishop of York award. This is a young leaders award which is designed to empower young people to serve their generation and to put the needs of others before themselves. They have had to complete projects at home that have made a difference to their family life and then they have completed two projects together in school. One of those projects was to write thank you cards to a staff member of their choice. On the cards there was an explanation as to why each student was grateful for the member of staff that they have chosen, the purpose of this is to encourage staff and thank them for their hard work.  The final project was based around unity. All students designed a ‘unity brick’ which will be joined together to create a wall of unity full of images and words which promote acceptance of all people. Well done to Year 7 on their enthusiasm in completing the award under difficult circumstances!”
