Autumn

Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year. I was really impressed by Ms Burton’s English class taking the opportunity to collect a leaf from outside to think about descriptive writing. At the end of the last half term I thanked all our staff with the following message relating to GCSE performance in 2023:

“Anyone who’s eagle eyed will have noticed the school league tables were published yesterday. We are absolutely delighted with what our Y11 achieved last year – and comparisons to other Manchester High Schools are very favourable indeed.

We are:

    • In the Top 10 for Progress 8 with an overall rating of ‘Above Average’
    • In the Top 4 for Attainment 8 (the quality of the actual grades)
    • Top for destinations – yes, we’re the no.1 school! 98% of our leavers from 2021 having a secure destination.

Put this together with fabulous attendance – and these are certainly markers of an outstanding school.”

Wishing everyone peace in their homes and communities as we approach Advent and Christmas.
