Debate Mate

Assistant Head of English, Ms Wilson, tells us the latest about Debate Mate Cup:  “On Tuesday, 30th March, our team of Year 9 students took part in the Debate Mate Cup. This took place online against two competing schools in London. Our students were very successful, gaining a high score for Trinity. They won one of their two debates where they debated on the proposition (agreeing) side of this motion: fake news and false information is the biggest threat to world health. The students were congratulated for their articulacy and the way they linked their ideas together as a team; they showed passion for the topic! The debaters have shown resilience this year, being able to express themselves despite the challenges of online communication.”
