Debate Mate Launch

Teacher of English, Miss Wilson, tells us about the recent Debate Mate Launch: “Shortly before half term, 23 Trinity students from Years 7 – 10 attended the Debate Mate Launch at the University of Manchester. The students were given the chance to see a ‘show-debate’ on the question of whether 16 year olds should be able to vote. They heard very persuasive speeches from both sides, delivered by experienced debaters. They also had the opportunity to participate when questions or challenges were taken from the audience. Overall, the launch was a great experience and the Trinity debaters are looking forward to training their debating skills. The Debate Mate club has now begun and will take place after school on Tuesdays.”
