Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition
Last Friday and Saturday, 24 of our Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award participants travelled to Hayfield and Buxton for two one day walks as a practice for their assessed expeditions next month.
On the Friday morning, following a final safety briefing, students travelled to Hayfield in the school minibuses and completed the pre-planned walk, whilst practising their navigational and leadership skills. On the Saturday, the group travelled to Buxton and started their expedition at Grin Low. Their journey ended with a view overlooking High Ash Farm and the valley.
Our thanks go to Mr Kirsten, Mr Davis and Ms Walker for leading the successful expeditions over the weekend.
