Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Silver expedition

Last weekend, it was the turn of our students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver award to attend two day walks to Buxton and Hayfield. Our Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator, Mr Kirsten, tells us more: “Mr Davis and Ms Wilson joined me on a very wet Friday and an overcast Saturday with 18 Silver candidates. Spirits were kept high amongst the group – we sheltered under trees for lunch and continued marching through the driving rain with smiles on our faces. At Kinder reservoir, the rain was being blown sideways and the low cloud was hiding the summit of Kinder Scout and Kinder Downfall.” Well done to all those involved in battling through the rain!
