European Union staff trips

Having an outward looking perspective is paramount for us at Trinity, and not only have we held the full International School award since 2016, reflecting our diverse staff and student base, but we are also always keen to widen everyone’s horizons, students and staff alike.

After securing a grant and organising a free trip to France for our pupils in 2022, we more recently sent our second cohort of teachers (28 in total!) to Rouen, France and Santander in Spain at Easter, using our very generous Erasmus grant to further bring an international dimension to the school’s curriculum, enhance the language skills of staff outside the MFL department, and encourage a wide range of cross-curricular projects, as well as further develop our links with our foreign partner schools. The trips included a variety of cultural activities, daily language lessons and visits to local schools, to give us an insight into difference education systems.

The 28 colleagues, from the English, Maths, Science, Social Sciences, RE, Drama, PE, history, IT, Food Tech and MFL departments, as well as the administration team, are now working hard to implement changes in school, through cross-curricular projects, more pen pal schemes, lunch time language clubs and enhanced EAL (English as an Additional Language) focus.
