Face Coverings

As part of the government’s move to Step 3 of the roadmap, from Monday, 17th May, new advice applies to the use of face coverings by staff and students in schools in England.
Face coverings are no longer recommended for students in classrooms or communal areas, in all schools. Face coverings are also no longer recommended for staff in classrooms. In all schools it is recommended that face coverings should continue to be worn by staff and visitors in situations outside of classrooms where social distancing is not possible (for example, when moving around on corridors and communal areas).
Please remember that students will still need to wear face coverings if they are travelling to and from school on public transport.
It is possible that the reintroduction of face coverings for students or staff may be advised for a temporary period in response to particular localised outbreaks, including variants of concern. We will keep parents informed, should this situation arise.
