Farewell to two long-serving members of staff
At this time of year we always say goodbye to a number of colleagues who are taking up new positions. Amongst our leavers we say goodbye to several form teachers; Ms Conquest (English), Ms Dearing (Drama), Ms Shorrocks (Geography) and Mr Barton who’s moving to another school as Head of Maths. There are two particularly well known members of support staff leaving this year. The first, Ms Hulston (our deputy safeguarding lead) is retiring this year after almost ten very successful years at Trinity. Ms Hulston has worked effectively with lots of individual students aiming to ensure that they are safe at school, at home and in the community. Happy retirement Ms Hulston!
The final leaver I’m going to mention this year is someone incredibly well known to the whole school – and many many year groups in the past – Mr Dennis who’s connection with school almost spans thirty years. When Mr Dennis came to let me know he was leaving us to spend more time with his family, I said to him that if we gave out medals for truly outstanding service he’d certainly receive one. His dedication to students, parents & carers and staff has been exceptional, and all of us give thanks for the service he has offered. I said to the students in my final assembly, if they were looking for a role model – they couldn’t go far wrong in using Mr Dennis as that example. Thank you to Mr Dennis and all the staff who are departing, we wish you well.
