International Links and Languages Awards Evening

From Deputy Head, Dr Chard: “May saw the return of our International Links and Languages Presentation Evening. The evening began with some superb piano and guitar music played by Year 9 musicians Eliezer and Joel. Not only were the full MFL team involved in the presentation of the awards, but our Sixth Form students spoke eloquently about their love of languages and their future aspirations as they take their next steps in life. Guest speaker, Prof Javier Garcia Oliva (Professor of Law at the University of Manchester) gave an inspiring talk about how learning languages can open up opportunities and is a metaphorical passport for journeying around the world! Awards were presented for Years 7-10 for French and Spanish and XP Languages, which this year has involved learning Arabic and Italian, along with our Pen Pal awards. Congratulations to all of our award winners.”
