King’s Coronation Invitation
Ms Alnuamaani writes:
Gareth, one of our Sixth Form Prefects and Year 13 student had the privilege of attending the King’s coronation events in London. In his role as a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet, Cadet Warrent Officer Gareth Lloyd Morris was invited to London by the Lord Lieutenant of Manchester Mrs Diane Hawkins JP LLB. Representing the 317 Failsworth Squadron Royal Air force Cadets, Gareth enjoyed a fantastic view of the procession from Wellington Arch in London before being escorted to a prime view of the Appearance of the King and Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
On returning from London, Gareth then continued to fulfil his duties by representing his Squadron at an official service to celebrate the coronation at Manchester Cathedral where he can be seen in the picture with the Bishop of Manchester, the Rt Revd David Walker. Gareth has also been nominated to receive the Dacre Sword. As a sixth form we are very proud of Gareth and all he does to support the school community. We wish him well for the future, and thank him and all the fantastic Year 13 prefect team, especially our Senior Prefects Ruby, Toby, Lucy and Kelvin for all they have done in their roles this year to support the school and enhance the life of our students in the sixth form.
