Music Updates

From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:
Music Mark – We are delighted to have been nominated again as a Music Mark school, in recognition of the value we place on music, for both curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. With almost 400 children learning an instrument, 13 weekly ensembles and exciting new courses at KS3 and KS4, it’s wonderful to know our Trinity students can develop their musical skills to a high standard as well as grow in confidence, resilience, courage, independence, commitment, sense of balance and community and most importantly, happiness. Thank you to Manchester Music Hub and Music Mark for the award.

Junior Royal Northern College of Music – We are delighted that two of our exceptional Trinity musicians have secured places at the outstanding specialist music conservatoire, the Junior Royal Northern College of Music each Saturday. Joshua in Year 9 is a double bass player and Vinchy in Year 10 plays the oboe.Joshua attended JRNCM last year and has found it a great opportunity to play with other double bassists, especially as they are such a rare breed! He leads the double basses in the Chamber Orchestra and also plays in a double bass quartet.
Vinchy, who recently joined Trinity from Hong Kong, has been playing oboe since the age of 5 and has just completed her JRNCM audition, preparing pieces on both piano and oboe as well as sight reading. She now has classes in musicianship and improvisation as well as Chamber Orchestra and Wind Quartet.
We are very proud of them both for their ambition, hard work and dedication, and thrilled that they are also committed to our Trinity orchestra and ensembles.”
If any students would like to find out more about learning an instrument, please see Mrs Madden.
