Musical Student Success

From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:

“We are delighted to share the amazing news that as well as being principal tuba for the Halle Youth Orchestra since September 2022 and gaining a place to study at the Junior Royal Northern  College of Music, Ini, Year 13, was selected for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, one of only three young tuba players in the whole country to reach this standard of excellence and join this prestigious ensemble.

As part of NYO, Ini will be performing at the BBC Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall this summer. Ini also achieved his Grade 8 Tuba as well as receiving offers to study as an undergraduate  musician at some of the UK’s elite Conservatoires next year, including being offered a full scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire! We are very proud of Ini and can’t wait to watch his  musical career take off when he leaves Trinity this summer.” If you are interested in pursuing a musical career, the JRNCM has an open day for talented musical children on 10th February 2024:  more information about the JRNCM, Young Artists, Young Strings and other programmes can be found here: https://www.rncm.ac.uk/pre-18-youth-projects/
