NEU Strike Action

The school was ‘partially open’ on Wednesday this week due to the strike action by the National Education Union. As headteacher, I have to conduct a ‘risk assessment’ to ensure that we can operate safely with whatever staff we know will be working, and we were pleased that everyone attending was safely cared for during the day. Thank you to the wonderful support staff and leadership team who led the online learning sessions in school on that day. Our plans for the next strike day (due on 28th February), will hopefully be announced before the half term break.

I know parents of students who are sitting exams this year will be concerned about lost time, but our dedicated teaching team will be preparing students fully for the exams when in school – it makes attendance for Y11, 12 & 13 even more important than ever!
