Polish Armed Forces Plaque
On Friday 3rd May, at St Peter’s Square in Manchester, a significant event took place. His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Diane Haw-kins, the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Yasmine Dar, and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Manchester, Michał Mazurek, proudly unveiled the Polish Armed Forces Plaque.
This ceremony, which coincided with Poland’s Constitution Day, served as a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the Polish airmen, sailors, and soldiers who valiantly fought during the Second World War. Their bat-tlegrounds were not limited to their homeland of Poland but extended through the challenging terrains of the Middle East and North Africa, across continental Europe, and reached as far as the United Kingdom.
The students of Trinity High School came together in this commemoration, honouring the bravery and sacrifices of these war heroes. Their presence added a significant layer of respect and admiration to the event.
