Reading Buddies

Mr Cummings tells us about our Year 11 ‘reading buddies’: “Over the year so far, a Peer Mentoring Reading Group was set up with the aim of improving reading amongst Year 8 students. The initiative focused on key areas of reading and reading for comprehension such as; intonation, vocabulary acquisition, inference, comprehension, spelling and reading punctuation. The Year 11 students, pictured below, oversaw the reading of their peers, showing tremendous dedication, enthusiasm and expertise. Thank you to all those who took part.”
