Recovery Poems Event

We were delighted to be a part of the Oxford Road Corridor of Light event towards the end of last term, which was a celebration of language through different mediums. We welcomed a piece from the ‘recovery poems’ project into our school playground, which was also the backdrop to some fabulous musical performances from our choirs, led by Director of Music, Ms Madden. Through talking and listening to communities, artists Robert Montgomery and Deanna Rodger created the inspiring light poem: “The surge of spring hides inside the blank wood of winter now we have paused in the heartland of care, made beds of sodden earth’s mournful moss, our mortal thrum. At what point do we fall into each other’s arms and dance again loosening our shadow? We are vulnerable in this first light, but rising steady now, crowning in the new music.
