Science trip

Last week ten of our sixth form physics students attended an exclusive screening of the new nuclear power documentary “Nuclear Now” from Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone, hosted by the Dalton Nuclear Institute. The documentary focussed on the growing energy crisis we are facing globally with a emphasis on the possibility of overcoming the challenges of climate change and energy poverty through nuclear energy. Our students were then active participants in a Q&A with a panel of experts from the Nuclear industry, discussing not only the pros and cons of nuclear power, but also the portrayal of them within the documentary. It was a fantastic evening and our students were an absolute credit to the school throughout, displaying their huge promise as aspiring physicists!
