Sharing The Road Safely

Assistant Head and Head of Mathematics, Mr Scott, tells us about the ‘Sharing the Road Safely’ event that Trinity has been attending for the past three years:

“Year 7 students were invited to a ‘Sharing the Road Safely’ event organised by the University of Manchester on Friday, 18th October. Students enjoyed learning about safe cycling around Manchester and were given some cycle maps to help them to explore the city on their bikes. They also had the opportunity to test out the visibility of various trucks by sitting in the drivers seat. The police force were on hand to give students an insight into how speed cameras work and why they are such an important road safety tool. All students went away with a wealth of road safety knowledge and some free baseball caps, bike lights and pencil cases.”
