Summer School

At the end of the last school year, in the first week of the summer holidays, the school welcomed our new intake of Y7s to our Trinity Summer School. Beginning Monday 24 July 2023, the students were able to join us each day to gain an experience of what Trinity would be like for them as they joined the school in September 2023. On Monday to Thursday, the students enjoyed a broad range of subjects including PE, Maths, ICT, Science and RE. And on Friday the students delighted in a day of team building exercises and – to cool off in the heat – a visit from an ice-cream van.

As the photos show, the students – around 170 across the week – all had a hugely enjoyable time, making new friends, getting to know the school better, and reducing the anxiety of the move from primary to secondary school.

Thank you to Dr Birkinshaw and the staff who worked an extra week into the summer holidays and also to the team of 6th Form volunteers who helped though the week. The summer school provides a great ‘transition’ opportunity and we sincerely hope to run a similar event next year.
