Trinity’s 40th Celebration
In the last week of term, we had the pinnacle of our 40th anniversary celebrations, a magnificent showcase event at the Royal Northern College of Music. All students, staff, parents, governors and friends of the school were given the opportunity to watch an hour long spectacle of music, drama, dance and worship to honour the school’s mission; Faith in the City, Value in People, Excellence in Education. Our thanks and appreciation goes to all of our wonderful students and staff who made this day possible.
Our talented students performed three times throughout the day to the appreciative audiences. Students left schools in waves, with our Sixth Formers paving the way along the route to the RNCM with impressive flags! As the audience arrived at the RNCM, they were greeted with music by our steel pan band and performances on the concourse areas by our ‘Circus Sevens’.
The showcase event was opened by our stage band performing ‘Sing Sing Sing’ by Louis Prima, followed by a brass fanfare. The event continued with performances from the orchestras, choirs, an 80s dance medley and musical medleys from ‘School of Rock’ and ‘Shrek’. It was a joy to sing Juibilate (a Trinity CE High School favourite!) and ‘We Are Family’ also being enthusiastically joined in by the audience!
We were delighted to welcome special guests to the event who performed sermons at the event, The Ven Karen Best (Archdeacon of Manchester) and Revd Azariah France Williams (Rector of the Ascension Church, Hulme’). We are pleased to share the blessing with you, written by Revd France Williams, which concluded our events:
A Blessing
Trinity, a bright beacon of hope
for those navigating poverty
and struggling to cope
Trinity, a catalyst and spark
friendship to the lonely,
a candle to those fading in the dark
Trinity, a bright revolving sphere
bringing growth and power to those
crippled, by abuses and fears
Trinity, for forty years
a community of communities,
a maker of legacies
and outstanding opportunities
Trinity, continue with your God given role,
steering children towards compassion-ate service,
to play their small part, in the whole
Trinity, a splendid palace packed with
liberating truth,
empower, educate,
embrace every last one of your youth,
every lost one, of our youth
In the name of
the Father, Creator
the Son, Redeemer
and the Holy Spirit, Sustainer
Amen
