Trinity’s Mock Election
The date of the general election (and the Trinity mock election!) just so happened to coincide with our 80s retro day!
All students had an election lesson where they were able to register and cast their vote in our mock election. Students could do this in advance (like a postal vote) or on the day. Students then posted their votes into our special ballot box.
The five main parties were renamed and rebranded as grey shape parties in order to remove bias and get them to engage with the information informing them of what each party stands for. The parties were revealed the following day. The overall winner was the ‘circle’ party, i.e. the Labour Party, which also matched the results of the general election! Our thanks go to Mrs Emery and the RE team for all of their work in putting together this important experience for our students.
