Uniform Standards Check
I believe this school to be a beacon of excellence in the heart of Manchester. We pride ourselves on good relationships and everyone feeling a sense of belonging to the community. Wearing a school uniform enhances school pride, unity, and community spirit. School uniforms keep students focused on their education and keeps staff focussed on teaching (rather than spending time questioning students not in the correct attire). School uniforms also create a level playing field among students, reducing peer pressure and bullying. This Friday we had a ‘Uniform Standards Check’ across years 7 – 10. The aim of the check was to make sure students were clear on what is / isn’t allowed, and that we have a record of where uniform issues exist. If your child doesn’t have the correct uniform or is wearing additional things like jewellery or training shoes, please expect some contact from your child’s form teacher next week.
The school is understanding that the cost-of-living pressure is challenging for parents. Governors have set aside some money to support the purchase of uniform where there is hardship and we also have some ‘preloved’ uniform that can be given out. If you need support in this way please contact the Senior Tutor for your child’s year group.
We’re working towards Monday 5th June 2023 – as we return from half term – for all uniform issues to have been resolved.
