Visit from the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester
Last Tuesday morning, we were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mrs Lorraine Christine Worsley-Carter MBE DL, to visit the school. The High Sheriff met with students and staff throughout the morning, whilst touring our wonderful school site.
The Office of High Sheriff of Greater Manchester is a ceremonial position and the appointment is made by the British monarch. The High Sheriff has the duty to “protect and assist in upholding the dignity and well-being of His Majesty’s judges and to represent the monarch’s executive powers in respect of the administration of justice in the county”.
