Y12 Trip to Haworth
The Year 12 A-Level English Literature students visited Haworth this week. They gained a first-hand understanding of settings which strongly influenced the writing of Wuthering Heights (a text we study at A Level) and other works by the Brontë sisters. We were extremely fortunate to be invited to have a tour of Ponden Hall, (a private home) which is the house that the Linton family live, in Wuthering Heights. Students also visited a number of other significant places in Haworth, including the church, the graveyard and the moors; all of which are places with significant ties to the Brontë family. Special thanks go to Ms Burton and Ms Holdsworth (trainee teacher) for helping to run the trip.
