Year 9 NHS Careers Presentation
On Wednesday 4th October, Year 9 had a visit from Mark Cubbon who is the Chief Executive of the Manchester University NHS Trust. Mark came into school to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the NHS and to talk to our students about the various career opportunities within the NHS.
Students were able to learn about both University and Apprenticeship routes into NHS based careers, as well as Mark’s story of how he began his career as a nurse before moving into various management roles.
There was also the opportunity for students to ask Mark questions and this was the highlight of the event. Our students asked well thought out, insightful questions and they learnt amongst other things about the development of artificial intelligence in areas such as surgery. Thank you to Mr Cann, who leads our careers programme in school for arranging the event.
