Modern Foreign Language

Curriculum Intent

The Modern Foreign Languages department aims to develop independent and creative language learners. We promote the study of French and Spanish by making lessons interesting, enjoyable, relevant, accessible and challenging to all pupils. We aim to foster positive attitudes and enthusiasm for languages.

We aim to provide an environment where students make progress and achieve and are proud of their success in languages. We promote language confidence and aim to give students skills for real life purposes.

Our Vision/Notre Vision/Nuestra Vision:

“You live a new life for every language you speak. If you only know one language you only live once”. We want our pupils to see the value and purpose of using languages in their lives, to promote a lifelong love for them and to equip our students with the cultural capital they need to develop into global citizens of the 21st century.
