Contributors Announced for Black Boys’ Faith & Wellbeing Summit
Following last week’s announcement about the Black Boys’ Faith & Wellbeing Summit taking place on Wednesday 21st October at the Ascension Church, Hulme, we are delighted to share details of some of the contributors who will be supporting the day.

Students will hear from Dave Neita who is a lawyer, published poet, lecturer and public speaker specialising in law, culture and mental wealth. A recipient of the Global Community Catalyst Award, his work is guided by principles of human rights and social justice, including representing excluded students in the UK and workers abroad whose lives have been affected by mining practices.
They will also meet Keisha Thompson FRSA, a Manchester based writer, performance artist and producer. She is currently Programme Manager for the Legacies of Enslavement Programme at The Guardian, as well as a trustee of the Independent Theatre Council and a Research Associate and Honorary Fellow at the University of Manchester.

Another contributor is Canon David Hermitt who began his career as a physics teacher before becoming one of the UK’s youngest headteachers in 2004. Now a consultant and researcher, he was recognised as a Canon of Chester Cathedral in 2024 for his work within the Chester Diocese and holds a number of national roles within the Church of England.
We welcome boys in Years 10 to 13, from all faith backgrounds and none, to attend. Further details and registration information can be found in the announcement on Class Charts.
