Christmas Gift Appeal

From Head of House, Mr Cater:

“Our Christmas Gift appeal launched this week in assemblies with Hannah, our guest speaker from Wood Street Mission, coming to thank our students for their previous donations and also informed them of the amazing work that Wood Street Mission have been doing in our local community for over 150 years.

“Wood Street offers a service that provides new toys and gifts to children aged 0-14 years old for families in need. These families have been referred via a social worker, a child’s school, a health visitor, or support worker. Parents and guardians will get to go and choose the gifts they would like to give their children from the selection donated by supporters like our school. Hannah’s latest data suggested that 90,000 children within Greater Manchester could require help from their service this year.

“Last year we were able to raise £500 and donate an incredible 350 gifts and we hope that our school can continue to help our local community. Gifts must be new, unwrapped and handed to form tutors. For their showing of empathy and compassion, students will be rewarded with a Trinity credit. If you can, please follow the links to find out more about Wood Street Mission and how to donate:
