Christmas Showcase

It has been a busy month in school, so we have a special double edition of the newsletter for our readers today! To start with, Director of Music, Mrs Madden, tells us all about the Music and Drama Christmas Showcase:

“Congratulations to over 150 talented music and drama students who treated us to a spectacular evening of entertainment on 12th December! The Stage Band opened the show with some jazzy Christmas classics, and throughout the evening there were performances from Years 7-9 steel pans, training guitars and ukuleles, junior woodwind, brass and strings. The Year 7 Drama Club presented their fantastically funny and creative interpreta-tions of the Nativity and re-tellings of Christmas poems, with titles such as Christmas Eve, No Room in the Inn, Sassy Mary, A Visit from St Nick and A Candy Cane at Christmas. The actors were all so confident and clear. The Year 9-11 Band Skills groups led the enthusiastic audience in some classic Christmas pop songs such as Santa Tell Me and I Wish it could be Christmas Every Day! A fantastic evening was had by all.”
