Cypher Challenge

Teacher of Maths, Ms Begum, tells us more:

“Our wonderful Year 9s have been partaking in a cipher challenge ran by the University of Southampton. They have shown excellent problem-solving skills and have dedicated their time to solving ‘the mystery of the Silver Bullet’. They show up with excitement and have learnt how to encode and decode, using many different historical ciphers such as the Vigenère Cipher and most recently the 6-needle telegraph cipher. Their brilliant teamwork and dedication has been recognised by the university! They will continue exploring the world of cryptography and ciphers in the next term.’
