National Basketball Finals
An update from our PE Cover Assistant, Ms Fong Lyew Quee:
“Our Under 14 and Under 16 girls’ basketball teams competed in the Dynamik National Schools Finals on Friday, 13th May, at the National Basketball Performance Centre. The Under 14 girls’ team matched up against Bristol Metropolitan Academy in the first game, losing 74 – 46, despite working hard in the third quarter to reduce the lead to 10. Irene did all she could to keep Trinity in contention, finishing with 34 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Under 16 girls’ team had a thriller game against Holy Trinity Storm, being up 2 points with 26 seconds left on the clock, and a last second score from the opponents to send the game into overtime. Despites efforts from Isobel with an amazing stat line of 20 points and 16 rebounds, Trinity fell short with the game ending 48 – 42.
The effort and commitment from both teams has been unmatched, and we celebrate the outstanding achievement of being 2nd in the country for both age groups. Special mention to Isobel and Princesse for competing in their last Trinity basketball game and leaving a legacy for the years below to follow.”
