Rising Tides Climate Event

Throughout this half term, we have been working collaboratively with Church of the Ascension, Hulme, and the ‘Young Identity’ group, which culminated in a special climate event last week. A group of Year 8 students firstly attended a workshop delivered by Christian Aid about the climate emergency and how they can play their part in building a stronger future for us all, as global citizens. A Eucharist followed the workshop, which featured 15 Trinity students reading beautiful poems that they wrote with ex-student, Ms May, and her colleague, Mr Elsenossi, from Young Identity.

In the afternoon, members of our eco-council enjoyed presentations from a youth community gardener, a theatre maker, community developer, an air quality scientist, and two local councillors, all describing their entry points into climate justice work. Our thanks go to Fr. France-Williams and the Church of the Ascension for providing this wonderful experience for our students.
