Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Awards Evening
From Deputy Head, Dr Chard: “Our STEM Awards Evening made a comeback after a two-year absence last week and it was certainly worth waiting for. One hundred students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 received awards for their hard work and high attainment in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Subject Leaders Mr Scott, Ms Dunn and Mr Barnes made some rousing speeches and presented the awards along with Ms Brownsell, Ms Walker and Mrs James.
We were honoured to welcome guest speaker of the night, Pasha Shah, OBE, who is Head of Community Engagement for the Department of Levelling Up, Communities and Local Government. Pasha’s university studies began with a degree in Chemistry and he spoke of how the scientific analytical skills he acquired have enabled him to problem solve throughout his very diverse career. Students and parents enjoyed some photographs with Pasha at the end of the evening and were able to talk to him about his fascinating career journey. Well done to all of our award winners!”
