Sixth Form Updates
From Dr Alnuamanni, Assistant Director of the Sixth Form:
“The first half term in the Sixth Form was a busy one! It was great welcome so many new Year 12 students to be part of our Sixth Form family and to welcome a productive and hard-working Year 13 back. Already students have been involved in lots of extra-curricular activities, as well as working hard in lessons. The week before half term saw our career and higher education week take place. Representatives from all the major Universities in the North West, including the Uni-versity of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan, Liverpool John Moore’s, UCLAN, Lancaster, UA92 and many more, came into school to meet with students at our lunch time events. Year 12 met employers from all aspects of working including the Civil Service and local engineering firms. We also had apprenticeship providers in school and our Year 13 health and social care group visited Manchester Royal Infirmary for an Allied Health Care careers event. Year 13 also had support writing personal statements from the University of Manchester and some attended a day organised by the Law firm Clyde and Co, aimed at support-ing personal statement writing, CV production and interview techniques. Latoya Robinson from Clyde and Co, who organised the day for us said the students “were engaged, inquisitive, respectful and very attentive. During the speed networking session, they spoke with a mixture of lawyers at various levels/teams and colleagues in our marketing, transformational and enterprise architecture teams. Our recruitment advisor was stunned at how well prepared they were, and other colleagues have already men-tioned how much they enjoyed the day, and how motivated and interesting young people they are. As an ex-student and current Trinity parent I’m very proud of the school”.
Our amazing prefect team also organised a “Wear it Pink” day to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Along with a bake sale, they raised over £800. An amazing achievement, well done!”
