Social Science Lesson

Teacher of Social Sciences, Ms Galbraith, tells us about some of the issues covered in KS4 lessons for those attending school: “For their first KS4 Social Science lessons, students started to consider the impact of Covid-19 on society. Students discussed the pressures on the NHS and how they will cope, as well as thinking about other health and social care settings such as care homes. The students discussed the impact of social distancing measures on vulnerable people such as the elderly, and expressed concern about them not seeing their family or getting the right support. An issue that arose was mental health. Students discussed the impact of staying inside, unemployment and job insecurity, and debated the effect this would have on people’s mental health.”
