Future Architects visit Making Matters Exhibition
From Head of Engineering, Mr Barnes:
“A group of Year 10 students who have shown an interest in becoming architects visited the ‘Making Matters Exhibition’ at Material Source Studio in Manchester. The exhibition showcased a wide range of fascinating architectural models from international companies and demonstrated how architects use physical models to design, develop, and present their ideas. Our pupils viewed the exhibition and then took part in a model-making activity, creating their own 3D architectural models.
By chance, Chris Williamson, the president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), was also at the exhibition, and he gave an inspirational talk to our students about his background and the incredibly rewarding careers available in architecture.”
