The week ahead

A huge thank you also goes to everyone involved in preparing for Activities Week. There is an enormous amount of planning behind the scenes to make trips, visits and activities run smoothly, and we are grateful to staff, students and families for the work already going into what should be a really positive week.

We can also now confirm that, following consultation and careful consideration, we have made the decision to move forward with investing in phone pouches for students in Years 7–11 from September 2026. Further details will follow, but the purpose is clear: to support learning, reduce distractions and help students engage more fully with school life throughout the day.

We know many students will be excited about the England World Cup game kicking off at 1:00am on Sunday morning. With Activities Week beginning early on Monday, we would encourage families to think carefully about the impact of a very late night, particularly when students need to be ready for trips, visits and activities at the start of the week. For many, catching up with highlights the next morning may be the best compromise — ideally without any spoilers! Whatever your family decides, we hope everyone enjoys the match and that England give us plenty to cheer about.
