Socktober

One of our Teaching Assistants, Ms Strittmatter, tells us about the ‘Socktober’ appeal that she is running in school:

“Trinity is once again supporting ‘Reach out to the Community’, to collect socks for the homeless of Manchester. During the coming months, the temperature will drop significantly, making a difficult situation for rough sleepers even more uncomfortable and more life threatening. Staying warm and dry is so important.

Can you take part in one simple act of kindness this October? Can you donate a pair/pairs of socks to a homeless person? Year 7 helpers will be collecting socks in the coming weeks. You can drop these off at 0G6 or the Sixth Form building in the boxes and bags provided. Alternatively, you can make a collection as a form and they will be collected by our helpers. Socks can be new or in good, clean condition.

We collected 207 pairs last year which were gratefully received by ‘Reach out to the Community’ and promptly given to those in need. Wouldn’t it be brilliant if we could help even more people this year? Please get involved with Trinity’s ‘Socktober’ appeal. Kindness really does make a difference!”
