Sporting Update
From PE Assistant, Mr Bryan:
“Our U’15 girls were recently involved in an indoor cricket tournament (pictured on the right). They received some great coaching and inspiration from Jasmine Naeem, the world’s first female Muslim umpire. Our girls improved in every game and are now through to the Greater Manchester finals.
In the national basketball cup, it was a thrilling game for our U’16 boys, as they beat Wirral Grammar 63 – 60. The game was almost tied, as they hit a 3 just after the buzzer! The boys played with heart and great offensive play, with a special mention to Hilary and Calvin for their performance.
There was also a great afternoon of netball, as both teams got the win against St Matthew’s. Year 8 won 15 – 9 and Year 9 won 28 – 12! POM went to Jessica and Shania. Well done to all our sports students!”
