Summer Success for Trinity performers
From Director of Music, Mrs Madden:
“We are delighted to share some good news about our incredible musicians, actors and singers and their achievements over the summer period!
Firstly, congratulations to Elizabeth, Year 9, and Kaiden, Year 7, who both performed with the Halle Children’s Choir at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms in a new commission about the power of music by Sir James Macmillan called Timotheus, Bacchus and Cecilia.
They were utterly spell-binding! You can still catch their performance on BBC iPlayer (first shown 21st July).
Huge congratulations to Leila, Year 12, who performed in an outstanding 5-star performance of Les Misérables in July and also to Finn, Year 10, Kitty, Year 9, and Tilly, Year 9, who were part of a fantastic Summer School production of Singing in the Rain in August at our local community theatre, Z-Arts in Hulme, directed by Manchester Musical Youth. They were all stars!
We are thrilled to share that, after receiving his fabulous A-level results, our star tuba player, Ini, secured a full scholarship to study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and will be continuing his musical journey at this prestigious university for outstanding musicians from this week! Ini also featured in the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in August as one of only three young tuba players in the whole of the UK to be selected for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. You can see him in action on BBC iPlayer (search for NYO, first shown 11th August).”
