Supportive Year 11 Pastoral Team

Over the last few weeks, daily ‘breakfast meetings’ have been held amongst members of our ‘supportive Year 11 pastoral team’, shown below. In the meetings, every Year 11 student was discussed, with the conversation centred around behaviour and attitudes, mock exam results, estimated grades, Sixth Form choices, attendance and punctuality. These meetings enabled the school to identify the support and interventions needed for each individual student, so that they can make progress and be as successful as possible in their forthcoming GCSE examinations.
Individual letters of encouragement were sent home to our Year 11s about their progress in school and the need to continue their hard work in school and at home. On Wednesday, Head of KS4, Mr Cann, led a special assembly which highlighted the support being put in place for students in the lead up to the exam period.
