Y10 Maths Trip
Ms Williams writes – On Wednesday, a group of Year 10 mathematicians enjoyed a trip to the Alan Turing Building at The University of Manchester. The students took part in a variety of problem-solving workshops which tested their mathematical abilities, including estimating how quickly a human would free-fall from space and researching how probability knowledge can affect the balance between luck and skill. The trip gave our Year 10 students an insight into studying Mathematics beyond GCSE. This is the time when our students should start to think about their post-16 options and we want to be on hand to offer as much support as possible. At Trinity Sixth Form, A-Level Mathematics is the most popular subject and students really flourish on the course. We also offer A-Level Further Mathematics and Level Three Core Mathematics. If students want to find out any more information about the courses on offer, then they can contact the Mathematics department in school.
The day ended with a Dragon Maths competition where Team Trinity won a mathematics-themed prize!
